Britney Spears Releases A Twelfth Teaser For Her ‘Hold It Against Me’ Music Video
Welp, another Valentine’s Day is in the History books. David and decided to keep things nice and boring here at home for VD yesterday because we are planning to celebrate our 5 year anniversary on Thursday night ahead of a week-long trip to NYC next week and a 2 week-long trip to Berlin, Germany the following week. BUT, while we decided to stay home last night … we did manage to find a way to make our night in worthwhile.
Chocolate, strawberries and champagne paired with Tabatha’s Salon Take Over and RuPaul’s Drag Race and we had a perfect night together. I know, I know … a lot of other couples like to go big on VDay but it’s not what we’re really into. For the most part, David and I enjoyed one of our regular ol’ Monday nights together … which was just fine for the both of us … because we like to celebrate our lurve all year long ;)
I have to start preparing for our trip so I have a lot of laundry and packing in my evening plans for tonight. The weather has gotten gloomy here in SoCal and it’s supposed to rain. Blah. Hope it’s sunny wherever you are today ;D

Joe Manganiello Does ‘Cosmopolitan’ Magazine
A new batch of previously unseen promo photos of popstar-turned-actress Christina Aguilera have made their way to the Internets and they are … interesting … to say the least. The photos were shot by Andrew Macpherson and feature a relatively fresh-faced Xtina. The pics are worth checking out, especially since Xtina is not wearing her garish trademark red lipstick.
Thank the sweet baby Jebus that Macpherson got Xtina to pose without all the red lipstick. I think she looks a million times better when her make-up is light. To be honest, some of these photos are cheesy as Hell … but they’re not bad. Macpherson photographed some of the promo photos for Burlesque (including the official movie poster) as well as shoots for Natalie Portman, P!nk, Britney Spears and others. These photos are fun … playful … and much better than many of Xtina‘s other promo photos. What do y’all think … do you like?

Jive Records Confirms The Release Of Britney Spears’s New Single? [UPDATE]
On Tuesday I posted my Top Albums of 2010 and yesterday I was planning to post my list of my fave films of the year … but I had to push back one day so I could see one more film to determine if it was worthy of making my Top 10 list. And so, without further ado, here is my personal list of the Top Movies of 2010.
Number 10 — Piranha 3D:
The B-Movie was back this year and it came in the form of the hilariously silly yet entirely entertaining film Piranha 3D. No movie this year had more blood, boobs and severed penis than Piranha 3D … which, of course, means that the film should be lauded in some small way. While the serious, well-acted, well-written, incredibly creative films will be honored by the big movie award ceremonies next year, I think there is something to be said for the silly “popcorn movies” that manage to entertain for 90 minutes in the most frivolously fun way. Piranha 3D is no cinematic masterpiece … but it’s a damn good time at the movies … and it deffo made my list of fave films for 2010.

New Details Emerge About Britney Spears’s New Album
At LONG last, David and I got to see the amazing new film Blue Valentine, which stars Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling, last night here in LA and I am happy to report that the movie was WELL worth the wait. David and I met up with our BFFs Darion and Emma at the ArcLight in Hollywood, CA for the showing … and hands down, we all loved it entirely.
Without question, Blue Valentine is a beautiful and painful movie to watch. Without the need for special effects, 3D or big action scenes, BV is able to deliver one of the most powerful films released this year. The storyline of the film never ventures outside of the simple story of a long love affair between who people, complete with hills and valleys of happiness and despair. I was quite taken with how meaty the film is considering how simple-sounding the plot actually is. The story jumps between two opposing time periods … showcasing times of extreme happiness and extreme sadness in the relationship. Williams and Gosling expertly portray these very real characters in such a way that it’s hard to believe they were acting. Raw, real … painfully normal … Blue Valentine is just a stunning portrait of one ordinary couple’s complicated life. There has been much talk about how the film got slapped with an NC-17 rating but you can forget all about that bullshizz. There is nothing pornographic in this film … it’s just a stark look at the good and bad things about love. I loved this film, no question. It’s not a happy film but it’s one that I think y’all should check out.
Tonight, I’m gettin’ in my car and I’m trekkin’ down South to San Diego to see the Dresden Dolls in concert. It’s been a long time since I’ve roadtripped for a concert but I’m really excited to see the band LIVE for the first time. It should be a blast :)

Exploring Israel: Part 4
Another splendid day in the Holy Land!
On Wednesday, we began our journey by paying a visit to the Jordan River and the baptism site of Yardenit on the southern tip of Galilee, near where Jesus himself was baptized (above).
Momma Perez even bought a bottle to take some water back home. Holy water! Literally!
We splashed some [...]
Well, unfortunately, there's someone else out there who wanted it more, so no dice!
Check out (above) one of the creepiest things we've ever seen, a life sized wax figure of Patrick Swayze dressed as his character from the 1989 flick Road House.
Created by Logan Fleming, this terrifying piece of art, which "sports his famous flowing 1980s hair style, khaki pants, and short sleeve black polo shirt" was recently auctioned off for an unknown final selling price.
Oh, and he didn't come with shoes.
Yeah. If this doesn't deserve the first serious 'WTF?!' of the day, then we'd be frightened to know what does!
Not the best way to honor his memory.

Hugh Jackman & The Kids Hit The Beach Down Under
The rain returned last night but, thankfully, it wasn’t a torrential downpour … and it didn’t last very long. After a nice quiet day together, David and I decided to take in a movie to end our lovely Xmas Day. A couple of months ago we saw a trailer for a Finnish film called Rare Exports that looked interesting. It tells the tale of the discovery of an evil, child-killing Santa Claus … which seemed like the perfect Xmas Day film.
The thing I loved most about the film was the inventiveness of the story. While there were a few things about the plot that I would’ve liked fleshed out a bit more, the overall film was really entertaining. Did you know that Santa Claus is not actually a jolly ol’ elf who likes to deliver toys to all the good little boys and girls around the world? Well, according to Rare Exports … it’s true … he’s actually a hulking creature that has been buried for centuries and threatens to take his wrath on the children of the world should he ever be freed. I wouldn’t call the film a horror movie … but I wouldn’t call it a comedy either. It’s … an interesting film, that’s for sure. It is deffo worth checking out if you’re interested in seeing Santa painted in a different light. We quite enjoyed the film.
No big plans for today … it looks like it’s gonna be a very quite Boxing Day here at the homestead.

Injured ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’ Actor Will Spend Xmas Hospitalized
David and I made the brave decision to make our way to The Grove last night so that we could walk around the outdoor shopping center to take in the Xmas decorations, pick up a few last minute things and pretty much just hang out. Fortunately for us, the massive crowds weren’t an issue nor was the, thankfully, dry weather. No, when I was bleeding all over the floor at World Market not 10 minutes into our arrival, I knew it was going to be a special night.
Let me tell you, broken glass ornaments are no joke … NO JOKE PEOPLE! While perusing the Xmas offerings at World Market, I reached out to pick up a cute little glass bird thing and little did I know that it was broken. A very sharp piece of the glass poked right into my fingertip and SQUIRT! out came the blood. I was so surprised, I didn’t know what to do … but by the time the 8th big drop of blood splashed onto the floor, I grabbed a newspaper flyer and wrapped my finger. It took a bit of time but the folks at World Market came over to clean up the blood and whisk me into the back storeroom so that I could wash my finger and get it all bandaged up … OH and to fill out 3 forms to document the accident. To be honest, I was more embarrassed than anything else … and I ended up buying a NOT BROKEN glass bird for our Xmas tree so … yeah, that was the most exciting part of the night.
The rest of the night was fairly nice, yet uneventful. We managed to get “snowed” on by the fake snow that The Grove pumps into the air … snow that is made out of soap, so if you inhale it, get it in your eyes or swallow it … it makes you want to die. Xmas in LA, folks.
Tonight, David and I will be sharing our first Xmas Eve dinner together so we are looking forward to that. I have a few Xmas specials I want us to watch … deffo A Charlie Brown Christmas, most likely Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and hopefully White Christmas (which will be a hard sell for David but … well, Xmas miracles do happen). I hope all y’all have a fabulous Xmas Eve tonight. May Santa Claus make your Xmas wishes come true … and Happy Holidays!!
