Movies Other Than 'Napoleon Dynamite' That Should Be Animated Series

Six years have passed since we've seen the smooth moves of teen geek heartthrob Napoleon Dynamite. But 20th Century Fox is bringing the character back in all of his nun-chuck and computer-hacking glory with an all-new animated series arriving next year.

Let's go over the preliminaries: We're ridiculously excited that after what seems like the longest process ever there is finally (sort of) some forward momentum on "The Hobbit." But an article posted by New Zealand Herald News said the films, which are being shot back-to-back and are still awaiting an official green light, are expected to cost in the $500 million price range. And that's on top of the $100 million in legal fees the production is expected to be facing.

That would make it the most expensive movie production of all time, beating out even "Avatar" and the two "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels (which hold the record with a combined price tag of $450 mil) for the title. Will all that money make for better flicks, though? Or will Peter Jackson's insane budget garner the same result his monetary freedom on "King Kong" did? To make a quick comparison, "King Kong" cost $207 million to make and grossed $550 million worldwide, while all three "Lord of the Rings" films cost $285 million cumulatively and made $2.9 billion worldwide. Chew on that.

Yes, in "Avatar's" case, big budget meant big payoff. But James Cameron also spent more than a decade creating the technology to film his dream project in 3-D, and the film subsequently blew the minds of people worldwide and made 3-D all the rage in Hollywood. And, though I could be proved wrong, I have a feeling that is not what has kept "The Hobbit" in development for the past seven years.

We already know that "The Hobbit" is set to be filmed in 3-D, so it can be assumed that a decent amount of the estimated budget is going to be used to make that seamless and beautiful. Plus, with all the legal disputes occurring in New Zealand over production of the film, there are bound to be some increased monetary requirements coming into these two films' productions.

But does more money automatically mean a better movie? The answer is a resounding no, and I'd argue that more often than not the smaller the budget the better the quality of the film. Look at "At World's End" or "King Kong" for proof of that, and then throw them up against films like "District 9" and even the other "Lord of the Rings" films that performed well and were critically well-received despite having smaller budgets. Fox lucked out with "Avatar" (if luck is the right word to describe a Cameron flick), but now every studio seems willing to throw buckets of money away to try to replicate that success.

I've always been a bit biased against larger-budget blockbusters because my concern is that the focus is taken away from creating a quality film and instead, as is likely to be the case with "The Hobbit," on creating quality effects. Still, there are plenty of elements in the story that could really thrive off a seemingly limitless budget. At least we can (hopefully) be promised a killer Smaug and some great casting.

So, now that you've heard my opinion, sound off on yours below: Does "The Hobbit" really need the $500 million budget, and do you think that will make it a better film?

“I’m very, very proud of her. I’m very excited, and I’m here to support her. And the minute she’s done I’m going to grab her and wipe off her makeup and get her into her pjs.”

When if Sambora was nervous before the show, Lund said, “No, she’s a diva! She’s ready to rock it, she’s amazing!” Proud papa Sambora couldn’t make the show due to a last minute scheduling conflict, but Lund was sending him photos the whole time, explaining, “He’s so excited about this, it’s his baby!”

She must channel that star power from her parents!

Back in August 90210 hottie Trevor Donovan spilled the beans that his character on the show, Teddy, would be coming out as gay this season. Late last season it was reported that one of the main 90210 male characters would emerge as a questioning gay character whose storyline will unfold over time revealing his homosexuality … and about 4 eps into the new season, that storyline is beginning to take shape. Trevor Donovan spoke with The New York Post about his role on 90210 and expressed pride that he is able to portray the story of a young gay man coming out … especially in light of all of the bullying and suicides of GLBT youth here in the US in recent weeks:

PopWrap: Were you excited to be the actor chosen to bring this storyline to life?

Trevor Donovan: I am so proud to be the one given this storyline — especially once I really had a conversation with the executive producer about where the story was going and the concerns I had. I’m very impressed with how this is being written. It’s exactly how I hoped it would turn out.

PW: It also feels like a great time to be telling this kind of story.

Trevor: Exactly. And it is a horrible situation, but I’m given the opportunity not only shed light with my storyline, but celebrities are bringing attention to the issue with The Trevor Project and It Gets Better. I’m glad it’s so publicized. It’s a good opportunity to remind people of what’s going on.

PW: As a straight man, did you turn to anyone in particular to get more insight into Teddy’s struggle?

Trevor: Oh, most definitely. I talked to acting coaches and friends who are gay, which helps a lot. I grew up in a small town, totally sheltered from any kind of alternative lifestyle, so this has been new to me also.

PW: I know it’s in the early days, but what kind of reaction have you been getting from fans?

Trevor: I’ve been getting Tweets and Facebook messages that run the gamut from heart-warming to inspiring to tear jerking – I really feel like we’re doing something positive here, and it just adds another layer to why I love acting: it lets me help people.

PW: Last week Teddy called Ian the F-word and fought with him. How do they interact moving forward?

Trevor: The thing with Teddy, and I think it’s very true to real life, is that he is so confused. So much in denial and not knowing how to deal with these emotions. So he acts out. Teddy will continue to struggle before he comes to the realization of who he is and Ian will be very supportive of that.

PW: So is their relationship on the DL?

Trevor: Teddy and Ian’s “friendship” isn’t even displayed in public. He forgives me for using the F-word and that’s kind of it. Any interaction we have is in private, any conversation we have is in private — so yes, our friendship is on the down low. Teddy’s not ready – and he won’t be for a while – to come out.

PW: Have you filmed any “love scenes?”

Trevor: I haven’t yet, but one is coming up – very soon in our shooting schedule. The writers are handling it very delicately. It won’t be gratuitous, which I think is very true to real life as well. Teddy’s not just going to jump in and be all for it right away. He’s going to tip-toe into it. It’s a very sweet storyline. It’s gonna be a PG thing: very subtle, very sweet, very real.

It’s interesting that much is being made of how Teddy‘s same-sex love scenes will be handled “delicately” so that it comes across on TV as a “PG thing” because on the episode that aired last night, Teddy was seen in bed with a girl and it was made very clear that he was naked and unable to get aroused when she grabbed his penis. To me, that love scene didn’t feel delicate or PG. BUT … I do get that 90210 is trying to ease into the gay storyline which, IMHO, is better than not doing a gay storyline at all. If anything, maybe this storyline on the show will enlighten young people who are questioning that they are not alone in what they’re feeling … it may also enlighten other young people who like to bully others. Again, it may not be perfect but this storyline being prominently featured on popular TV series is a positive step in the right direction. I am really looking forward to the day when storylines like this don’t need to be such a big deal.

I tell you what the sexy, hot Jessica Alba GQ photos are shots of the actress that we haven’t seen in a long time. In the latest edition of the UK magazine Jessica shows her sultry side in pictures that aren’t so much about what she is wearing but the vibe she is giving off.

If you check out the pictures here you will see exactly what I am talking about. I personally think these might be the sexiest shots of Alba we have ever seen or at least seen in a long time. It is pretty safe to say that Jessica is a MILK for sure. In fact one might even say that she is even sexier and hotter since she had her daughter Honor, I would anyway.

Jessica however recently told the magazine in which she shot the amazing pics for that her post baby body consists of saggy breasts, bigger hips and some cellulite but that she loves it. She also admitted that when it comes to measuring up to some other female stars she feels inferior. You know I disagree with her but it is nice to know that even someone as gorgeous as Alba sometimes questions her own beauty.

All that being said I still say Jessica Alba’s GQ photos are sexy and hot there is no doubt about it. The pictures certainly play up her assets very well showing of her curves and cleavage.
